As part of my job for AlgorithmWatch, we built software tools to investigate algorithms on tech platforms, e.g. recommendations.
DataSkop comprises of two parts:
- an Electron-based Desktop application where user-specific data, e.g. personalized recommendations, gets scraped
- a Web-based platform where data donors manage their data and editors can configure their donation investigation
In the project, I was the most senior software developer and was responsible for the software architecture, among other things. I collaborated with frontend developers, designers and researches.
